Fibreglass

If you live in Cork and are looking for the best fibreglass roof solution – look no further.

There are many different roofing systems out there specialising in top quality fibreglass – meaning that it can be hard to choose the right one. Here at Nationwide Fibreglass, we are Ireland’s leading fibreglass and flat roofing company, meaning we have the expertise to help you find the best possible option.

Location plays a huge part in which fibreglass option to settle with, especially when it comes to times of the year, resourcing materials and what companies are available to do the job.

At Nationwide Fibreglass, we have all the answers to your questions. We not only have the practical skills to supply to and service the entire island of Ireland, but we also have a wealth of knowledge to ensure you make an informed decision when you embark on your fibreglass venture, wherever you are based. We care about what is best for our clients, and we believe our best fibreglass recommendation for the Cork area is the long-established system CureIt.

What is CureIt?

CureIt is what is known as a GRP (glass reinforced polyester) roofing system, which is extremely durable, with extensive testing having demonstrated the typical life expectancy of a GRP roof product to be well in excess of 50 years. It is recognised as a superior alternative to conventional roofing materials as it has many added advantages in comparison to traditional options.

The CureIt system gets it superior reputation from its hardwearing materials. A roof installed using CureIt is made with specially formulated roofing resin and topcoat, meaning its strength is already strong before it is sealed. The CureIt system has a longstanding history as a high specification roofing system after a range of comprehensive test accreditations to BS and to ETAG (European Technical Approval Guidelines) standards and real-world long-term specification.

What makes CureIt different?

Although CureIt incorporates several diverse features, one of the most innovative elements of the system is that it is temperature resistant. The product’s technology includes what is called a ‘Four Season’ system – meaning it is adapted for seasonal variation in temperature – therefore allowing installation to take place all year round.

With Cork being based in the south of Ireland, the climate tends to be warmer than the likes of Northern Ireland, meaning that this is an important factor that needs to be considered when looking at fibreglass options. From temperatures down to 0°C and even throughout those warm summer months in Cork, the CureIt range will mean that come rain or shine, whatever the weather – it is the best and most versatile solution to homes, buildings and organisations scattered throughout the Cork area.

CureIt also boasts clever extreme UV resistant technology, meaning it will not only protect your roof to the highest of standards from damaging sunlight, but it will also prolong the lifespan of your roof as it slows down the aging process. This feature will also significantly reduce the roof membrane’s temperature and therefore lead to improved long-term performance of the system.

The CureIt system was additionally awarded Queens Award for Enterprise in the 2016 innovation category for the development of the CureIt GRP Roofing System. It is therefore trusted and recommended by industry-leading experts and will undoubtedly meet the needs of Nationwide Fibreglass customers across Cork.

The system also comes complete with a 20-year guarantee on the materials from the manufacturer, as well as a guarantee from us as the installers that the flat roof will remain leak free for at least 20 years.

Nationwide Fibreglass: The Best for Weatherproof Roofing in Northern Ireland

IMG_3534

Thinking of renovating your home just in time for the winter season? With Northern Ireland’s tendency for erratic weather, you don’t want these unpredictable conditions impacting your home on the inside, or the outside.

The best investment you can make is in robust weatherproof roofing solutions, to take you through rain or shine and increase the protection and durability of your home’s external structure.

Preparation is key for when the weather is going to be at its worst – so we at Nationwide Fibreglass have done all the research for you. For typically wet and windy Northern Ireland living conditions, we recommend our Crystic Roof products and installation services as the best solution.

Why Crystic Roof is the best option for Northern Ireland homes

There is a vast array of benefits that come with choosing Crystic Roof as a fibreglass roofing option, particularly if you are situated in Northern Ireland. Crystic Roof is an innovative, high-performance, durable solution suitable for all roof structures. Its superior technology means the standard remains unparalleled despite the weather, with incredibly low maintenance required once installed.

The key benefits of Crystic Roof include:

Customisation

The Crystic Roof system is revolutionary in comparison to traditional roof materials, as it can be easily constructed to suit any shape required – regardless of complexity – therefore making it an ideal option for multiple building scenarios. Whether it be a flat, valley or pitched roof – or even for walkways, roof lights and balconies – it can be formed in accordance. At Nationwide Fibreglass, we also offer a range of colours to help personalise your project and make your exact vision a reality.

Weather resistance

It’s not just Crystic Roof’s versatility that makes it a strong solution – it is unbeatable in terms of performance and resilience. The system boasts strong, leak-free qualities that allow it to effectively resist passage of moisture into the building once applied. This makes its water-tight formula a trusted option for particularly Northern Ireland-based homes, protecting homes from years of drizzly rain to torrential downpour. It also has a significant resistance to damage and foot traffic associated with installation and maintenance, proving its strength throughout the installation process and beyond.

Durability

The Crystic Roof system will provide a sturdy waterproof covering with a service life of at least 20 years. A GRP laminate formed under satisfactory conditions can maintain its integrity for 30 years, meaning the maximum durability will supersede other alternative weatherproof roofing options. Upon certification of the system, the results of accelerated ageing tests confirmed that successful retention of physical properties is achieved with Crystic Roof. When applied correctly, Crystic Roof remains water-tight and maintenance-free for many years – providing our customers with significant cost reduction in upkeep and repair fees for decades post-installation.

Investing in the quality and stability of your roof is important no matter where you live and is an excellent decision to make. It can enhance any property type, be personalised to suit your preference, add protection from challenging elements such as the weather, as well as help you save money when considering long-term home improvements.

Should I Choose a Fibreglass or Felt Roofing System?

IMG_7968

By considering fibreglass or felt for your roofing installations, you’re definitely asking the right question. They both are the definitely the most popular system for flat roofs, by far! But which one should you choose? Rather, which flat roofing system is most suitable for your home?

Let’s explore the two excellent systems, along with their benefits, advantages, disadvantages and facts, and you can decide which roofing installation system is best for your home.

The popularity for both systems come from different levels of requirements. With that said, Felt roofing installations is a much cheaper material, while Fibreglass roofing installations are more expensive. There is a great explanation for this, Felt roofing installations usually last less than 10 years, while Fibreglass roofing installations last for over 20 years

Both Fibreglass roofing systems and Felt roofing systems undoubtedly have benefits, there are significant key differences between them. Let’s take a closer look.

Felt Roofing Systems

Felt roofing systems are known to be cheaper than other roofing systems, they are highly effective and are easy to replace. Traditionally felt is a flat roofing system. Felt roofing is impermeable, if installed correctly. Felt roofing systems have been used for over 50 years within the roofing industry, though the membrane itself has changed slightly over those years, it largely remains a product made from a material called bitumen (asphalt or coal-tar pitch).

There are so many benefits of deciding to use Felt Roofing systems, no doubt. Some of the most attractive benefits of using Felt Roofing systems are, well firstly, it’s low cost. Whilst it’s low cost, Felt Roofing systems are good performing, efficient and highly effective. On average, roof felt is much cheaper than newer roofing systems like fibreglass roofing systems, and felt roofing systems offer performance that is comparable when installed properly. It is also quick and easy to install, and this is also the case for replacements if needed. You’ll want to choose an installer than is highly professional and experienced to get the most out of your felt roofing construction.

Felt roofing systems are also easy to transport and pliable. Felt roofing systems are incredibly pliable actually, and are very easily manipulated which makes it an easy material to work with. As Felt roofing systems are rolled up in transport, this means that a van is often all that you’ll need to get the job done.

The downfall of felt roofing systems are it’s lifespan. Typical felt roofing systems will last under 10 years, more specifically they will last 5-8 years. Felt roofing systems lifespan of course depends on many variables, such as the weather, maintenance and it’s environment.

Did you know that felt roofing systems have a 3-layer membrane system? This new 3-layer membrane system is much superior to the bitumen and stone chip system from the past. The 3-layer membrane system uses a system of underlay, waterproof membrane and polyester to offer the perfect finish and most importantly – an amazing waterproofing performance.

Fibreglass Roofing Systems

Fibreglass roofing systems are known to be durable, have excellent longevity and high performance.

While Fibreglass roofs are a newer edition to the roofing industry, they have a greater life expectancy of roughly 20-30 years. Fibreglass roofing systems lend themselves best to flat roof types but are also suitable for pitched roofs, this is assessed as consultation on a property by property basis. Fibreglass roofing systems are way more durable that other roofing systems, they are stronger too and because fibreglass roofing systems have NO seams, it’s much less likely to fail as a roofing system and let water in, causing water damage, ponding and leaking. Fibreglass roofing installations are relatively easy for the professionals to not only install, but repair if your roof becomes damaged.

Fibreglass roofing systems will last you for more than 20 years, maybe 30 years, if it’s well maintained, cleaned and looked after. Fibreglass roofs are also much less likely than felt roofs to develop a fault and become damaged because it has no seams, in which case fibreglass roofs are much easier to repair and this means that issue can be quickly identified and nullified by a professional.

Fibreglass roofing is prefabricated, meaning that it comes from the factory pre-cut, which allows for quick installation. There is also no wastage whatsoever with fibreglass roofing installations, this reduces runs to the skip – the dreaded job – and the expense of a skip at your home. With a no wastage perk of fibreglass roofs, this also means that fibreglass roofs are more environmentally friendly compared to felt roofs, which are not widely recycled.

Fibreglass roofing system has a downfall – it’s price. Compared to felt roofs, the cost of a fibreglass roof is much more expensive, however worth it – due to it’s quality and longevity.

Did you know that fibreglass roofing systems manufactured in the UK and Europe use a compound called corrosion resistant laminates and fire-retardant resins? High quality fibreglass is therefore one of the most heat and chemically resistant roofing materials on the market today in the roofing industry, making another of fibreglass roofs benefits it’s safety.

Is a Fibreglass or Felt Roofing System right for me?

This is a matter of personal and preference and property set up/requirements.

Equally, fibreglass roofing and felt roofing are waterproof. So they both tick the box here. However fibreglass roofing systems have a much longer life span and are the stronger of the two options.

If you live in a region with adverse or severe weather conditions, intense rainfall, wind or snow, then a fibreglass roof system is going to be a much better choice for you. If you want to get a longer life span out of your roofing system, then fibreglass is the right choice for you. If you are on a tight budget then you might want to consider felt.

A Guide To Maintaining Your Fibreglass Roof

Fibreglass (1)

The challenge in maintaining your fibreglass roof is that you can’t see it every day, like your back garden or your cooker, so you almost forget it needs attention until something goes wrong, like water damage. The other challenge is that a lot of aren’t familiar with the maintenance involved.

At Nationwide Fibreglass, we’ve developed a comprehensive guide to maintain your fibreglass roof.

Let’s take a look at how we can maximise the lifespan of your fibreglass flat roof. There are 4 important steps:

  1. Check in every 6 months
Check your fibreglass roof twice a year, make notes of any effects of seasonal change and damage. Set reminders to check back in and specific things you will look for based on your last check. Look for issues and look out for what needs repaired.
  2. Remove the debris
Mould, dirt, leaves, twigs, branches, you name it, all this stuff will gather on any roof regardless of the season. Make sure you clear this out, check for pooling and clean out your gutters, especially after rainfall.
  3. Surrounding foliage
If your property is class to trees, there’s a higher chance of debris falling onto your roof. If you can, keep the trees near your property trimmed and well groomed to avoid a build up of leaves and twigs on your fibreglass flat roof.
  4. Internal checks
Keep an eye on the inside of your home too. Check your ceiling for rising moisture and the spread of damp. Check for water damage that may have come from the outside.

Materials

The good news is, you don’t have to invest a lot of money in the right tools to keep your roof clean and in tip top condition. Your most basic requirement is a sweeping brush, which will enable you to remove excess dirt and debris from the surface of your fibreglass flat roof. As well as this, you could use a hand brush – these are basic items you’ll have in your home. Take caution when accessing your fibreglass roof.

Another inexpensive piece of equipment is a pressure washer, this is a very effective way to clean a fibreglass flat roof. With no chemicals involved in this method, it’s an environmentally friendly option too. The pressure washer will help remove algae and moss which cannot be easily removed with a brush.

The final option is chlorine solution wash, this is one of the faster solutions and it leaves behind much less water and tear due to it being a much shorter process. However, you must consider the chemicals contained in the solution which can be toxic for people, plants and animals.

Common issues with fibreglass flat roofs

While every building and surface is different, there are some common issues that you can expect to experience with your fibreglass flat roof. Find these issues outlined below.

  • Standing Water
Whilst fibreglass roofs are referred to as “flat roofs”, this is not the case. Most fibreglass flat roofs should experience a mild incline as a strategic plan to reduce rainwater capture and pooling.

  • Shrinkage
EPDM is used as the protective membrane coating on the outer coating for the roof and while there are many advantages to using this material, it can suffer from shrinkage which will usually occur around the edges. If or when this happens, the seams will begin to loosen and can affect the layer beneath it. Repairs will be straightforward if the shrinkage is minimal, but if this isn’t the case, it can become a costly job to repair.

  • Blistering
Trapped moisture between the roof and membrane can lead to blistering. Blistering is more likely to occur to your fibreglass flat roof in hotter environments or seasons because the moisture has more opportunity to expand. Your contractor will be able to see to blistering as a relatively straight forward task. If your blistering starts to crack then you leave your roof exposed and this can cause further issues.

  • HVAC Damage
Air conditioning units can cause problems for flat roofs. Ensure your air conditioning units are installed properly from the offset.

Please know that if these issues are left untreated, they can prove to be extremely costly.

If you need to patch and repair your fibreglass flat roof, you’ll need to consider which products are best for the job. If this the job of your contractor, then they will deal with the issue, if you need a quick fix or a temporary solution, here are two great products that will help you out:

FIX-Rcryl Waterproof Repair Solution – this can be easily painted to fill the gaps and cracks in on your fibreglass roof.

Acrypol Plus – this acrylic-based waterproof paint is used to repair or refurbish leaking roofs. This is most commonly used for fibreglass roofing so it’s the perfect choice. Acrypol Plus can also be used for temporary EPDM repairs.

Fibreglass roofing is extremely durable and has a high level of resistance to damage. Depending on your environment, maintenance and local area will play a role in how long it will be before you need to repair and replace. Even when repairs are required, they can be done quickly without leaving behind noticeable marks. CrysticROOF GRP Resin is used in conjunction with CrysticROOF GRP Topcoat to produce a clean and smooth finish, this can come with up with 25 years guarantee and, in some cases, has been known to last longer.

How To Clean Your Fibreglass Roof

Nationwide-Fibreglass

If you have a fibreglass roof or you’re thinking of having a fibreglass roof installed, then you’ll have one key question in mind – how do I clean my fibreglass flat roof?

Although fibreglass roofs are superior and much more resistant to heat, moisture, water and fire than alternative flat roofing materials meaning that they need much less maintenance as a result, they still do require a level of maintenance and cleaning and this blog is going to tell you everything you need to know to clean your fibreglass roof so that you can get the most out of its lifespan. If you clean and maintain your fibreglass roof, you can expect to not have to replace the roof before between 20-30 years. Isn’t that great?

So, let’s talk about the two C’s.

There are only TWO things that you need to do to maintain your fibreglass roof:

  1. Clean
  2. Coat

Et voila!

You of course need to look out for pinholes, water pools, moisture damage etc, but in terms of maintaining, the two C’s is your go to. Here’s what you need to do:

Clean

If you want to keep your fibreglass roof installation looking as good as new, then just like anything else, a little cleaning is necessary from time to time. You’ll want to make sure firstly that if you are doing the cleaning yourself that your fibreglass roof is safe and easy to access. Then using a long-handled mop and a bucket filled with warm soapy water, sweep the debris, leaves water, dirt etc away, lightly and gently.

Be careful not to create a slippery surface with the soapy water. Garden hoses are just as effective, when applying a lot of water to the area just ensure that water isn’t gathering and sitting in one area (pooling).
Finally, if you are using a pressure washer then avoid using one that uses hot steam as this can impact on the longevity of your fibreglass roof.

Coat

Once you’ve cleaned the roof and of course allowed it to dry back to normal, you’ll want to apply a new layer/layers of coat. Did you know that applying a new layer of coating is as effective as insulating and protects the interior from moisture? Here are some Q&A’s for you:

What type of paint should I go for?

Gel coat and acrylic paint are both very effective. Gel coat is easier to apply but acrylic lasts longer.

How do I know if I need a new coat?

Pooling is a sign that you need a new coat.

What do I need to prepare for before I apply a coat?

You will need to consider sanding before applying a coat, if your roof is new. If your roof is not so new, you’ll need to think about sanding, cleaning, disinfecting and striping. As well a this you’ll need to fill in any holes or cracks.

How Long Do Fibreglass Roofs Last?

Fibreglass roof installation is normally laid in either one or two layers, usually with a joint-less finish. Fibreglass roofs can be made to any colour. Most fibreglass roofs are guaranteed for 25 years but can last much, much longer if well looked after; cleaned and maintained. Fibreglass is expensive due to material costs, and although it is not as flexible as rubber it is incredibly resistant to damage and repairs are very easy and almost un-seen. Fibreglass roof installations are a great choice as they are extremely weatherproof and at little risk of leaking or developing frost damage (Fibreglass is also used on the hulls of some boats to give you an idea of strength). If you can stretch to the extra cost then it is well worth the money in terms of both durability and aesthetics.

How many years do fibreglass flat roofs last?

Most traditional roofs that are made from either asphalt or mineral felt will have a maximum life expectancy of between 10 to 15 years. Though they have quite a poor reputation in the industry due to their likelihood to leak or get water damage through ‘pooling’ – the unwanted gathering of water which accelerates the deterioration of many materials which include roofing asphalt.

The silver lining – if you keep your fibreglass roof clean and well maintained, you could have a fibreglass roof that lasts you between 20 to 30 years, before it needs replaced. Your fibreglass roof could last even longer before you need another fibreglass roof installation due to the introduction of plastic and rubber materials.

How many fibreglass flat roof installations will I need?

Depending on how you are at your property, you may need to have a maximum of two to three flat roof installations during your lifetime.

You do have other options for flat roof materials. These include EDPM and TPO roofing options. EDPM and TPO are types of rubber which tend to have a longer lifespan that the traditional materials, but Fibreglass is a much harder wearing material and is a preferred and smarter option.

Read further below to find out how to keep your Fibreglass roof cleaned and well maintained.

If your property consists of either a full or partial flat roof then you will be well aware of the need for continued maintenance in order to prolong its lifetime, as well as the need eventually to replace the covering over time.

There are many ways to clean your Fibreglass flat roof after getting rid of all the leaves, debris and water. The simplest way to clean your fibreglass flat roof is with a yard brush and some hot soapy water. For less labour-intensive work, you can use a pressure washer or when you have a flat roof with a non-slip surface. You also want to ensure that pooling isn’t happening and that your fibreglass roof is not a water trap.

Materials have developed and advanced over time, and you will need to look at the best option for you: Fibreglass, TPO, EDPM, Felt, Copper, and Zinc, and more.

The 5 Advantages of Fibreglass Roofing

Nationwide (1)

Fibreglass roofing systems have seen a massive increase in popularity over the past decade, and the reasons for this astronomical growth are vast. As a sector within the roofing industry, fibreglass has witnessed a growth of 4% consecutively, year-on-year. As industry continues to modernise, increasing numbers of private businesses, public organisations and property owners are investing more resources in roofing solutions that are durable, easily maintained and environmentally friendly. In this blog post, the experts at Nationwide Fibreglass share some of the major benefits of fibreglass roofing.

We’ve already touched upon the rising popularity of fiberglass roofing structures, and some industry statistics demonstrate just how strong this popularity really is, with the industry predicted to reach a whopping $19.9 billion by next year. Business leaders and homeowners across Ireland have joined the trend, and we are proud to stand as the island’s foremost experts in fibreglass roofing. Across the course of our 12 years leading this industry, we have installed over 8,600 fibreglass roofing structures, with over 7,400 happy clients. Our reputation is one that we don’t take lightly, and the benefits of our solution are testament to that.

The Advantages of Fibreglass Roofing

  • Versatility: When we meet clients, we are often asked what separates fibreglass roofing solutions from other options on the market, including felt, slate and others. We explain that the benefits of fibreglass roofing are vast. First and foremost, fibreglass as a roofing material is highly versatile, allowing us to apply the system to a huge range of structures. Whilst this type of roofing structure is most commonly used for flat roof structures, we commonly install and maintain these systems on pitched roofs.
  • Durability & Longevity: The versatility of fibreglass roofing is matched only by its durability, and here we find one of the core differentiators between felt and fibreglass. Fibreglass typically lasts over twice as long as felt, with felt roofing structures typically offering a fairly short lifespan of between 6-8 years. In the vast majority of cases, we’ve seen that fibreglass roofing structures last up to 20 years, representing a significant and important investment for your home, office or business premises. When you install our fibreglass roofing products on your property, you can proceed with total peace of mind regarding the longevity of the material. When it comes to the selection of materials, there are few solutions out there that offer the same level of durability and longevity than fibreglass.
  • Ease of maintenance: We’ve already highlighted just how durable fibreglass roofing systems are. This benefit also translates to a maintenance process that is relatively simple and easily carried out by our team of fitters and engineers. The truly innovative structure of fibreglass as a chemical material means that it is totally seamless, which drastically reduces the likelihood of environmental erosion and water damage. In the unlikely event of such damage, issues can be quickly identified and rapidly rectified.
  • Convenience: When it comes to material selection for roofing systems, it doesn’t get more convenient than fibreglass. The seamless nature of its structure means that there is no wastage, reducing pressure on local landfill and presenting itself as a more environmentally friendly alternative to felt, which is rarely recycled. The material is pre-cut on our manufacturing premises, significantly speeding up the transport and installation process.
  • Safety: At Nationwide Fibreglass, we recognise that safety is a major concern for all of our clients, public and private. When you opt for one of our fibreglass products, you can live and work in total confidence that your roofing material has been created using laminates that are corrosion-resistant and resins that are fire-retardant. In any premises where safety is a priority, the choice of fibreglass is an absolute essential.

At Nationwide Fibreglass, we’ve been championing this innovative material for over a decade. We offer a range of fibreglass products, each carrying their own unique benefits. To find out some overview information about these products and their range of benefits, keep reading.

RES-TEC

This fibreglass solution is manufactured by Scott Bader Company Ltd, who a leading authority in polyester chemistry and the production of high quality construction and roofing materials. This brand brings an unrivalled knowledge resource and excellent customer support services. When it comes to the manufacturing of polyester resin development, Bader is at the forefront of the industry.

Unlike many other fibreglass products, RES-TEC uses a powder hardener for faster curing, whilst also being reinforced with fibreglass CSM for ultimate durability and crack-resistance. Incredibly versatile, this product can even coat common surfaces including felt, concrete, timber and asphalt, meaning that overlaying work can be completed without any stripping or refitting.

Res-Tec systems are fire tested to BS 476-3 Rating: F.AA and EN 13501-5(4) Rating: BROOF(t4). This is the highest rating a flat roof system can achieve and allows for unrestricted use under UK regs. The products are also LABC Registered Detail certified (Certificate No.EW1000), ensuring compliance with the latest building rules and legislation. The system is applied as a one coat (10 year repair system) or two coat (20 year roofing system) system, using 225g/m2 fibreglass CSM for extra tough membrane protection that lasts decades.

Dryseal

One of the most popular fibreglass products we offer is Dryseal, which is produced in the United Kingdom in accordance with strict BS EN ISO 9001-2008 Quality Control procedures, and also in accordance with product performance and compliance standards that were established in the British Board of Agrément. The long-term guarantee of this product is a significant benefit and is insured through a network of experienced and approved contractors.

Unlike many ‘wet lay’ systems, the speed of installation is incredibly fast thanks to its means of fixing and jointing. Furthermore, its high impact resistance is supported by its liquid-only resin during the sealing of joints between various component parts. This drastically reduces the likelihood of lengthy delays caused by adverse weather conditions and other environmental circumstances.

And, like many fibreglass roofing products, dryseal is incredibly versatile and flexible, allowing it to be applied with ease in both cold and warm roof configurations. It carries a 20 year guarantee with an average lifespan of 30 years, with pre-cured parrots factory-manufactured under BS EN ISO 9001 and 14001 quality and environmental standards.

CureIt

CureIt comes as one of the most prominent products offered by the team at Nationwide Fibreglass. This fibreglass solution was awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise in 2016 in the innovation category for the development of the CureIt GRP Roofing System. Like some of the industry leading products we offer, CureIt comes complete with a 20-year guarantee on materials from the manufacturer.

One of the core benefits of this solution is its manufacturer guarantee that flat roofs will remain totally leak-free for two decades. Meanwhile, roofing resins and topcoats by CureIt promote superior bonding characteristics and ultimate flexibility.

We couldn’t discuss the advantages of CureIt without highlighting its temperature resistance, adapted for seasonal variation in climate to permit installation year round, including at temperatures down to 0°C. At Nationwide Fibreglass, we’ve found that this is a significant benefit in construction scenarios in Ireland, where adverse weather conditions often lead to protracted delays.

Many clients approach Nationwide Fibreglass when damage has taken root in their roofing structure, whether that be through a lack of maintenance, faulty installation or through a poor choice of material. Such systems are intricate and highly complex, containing many moving, interlocking and supporting elements. By taking the correct steps and making the right choices from the beginning, you can maintain your investment. At Nationwide Fibreglass, we possess the knowledge, expertise and direct experience necessary to guide you through each step of the process.

But why opt for a fibreglass roofing structure in your building or business premises? The benefits are vast. Fibreglass roofing has emerged as the most popular system for flat roof structures. However, the material is highly versatile and can also be suitable for pitched roofs. Beyond the versatility of fibreglass, it typically lasts up to twice as long as other popular materials, such as felt which typically lasts for a decade. When you decide to install a fibreglass roofing system in your home or business premises, you can live and work in confidence that the durability of your system will likely extend to 20 years. When it comes to material selection, it doesn’t get more durable and damage-resistant than fibreglass.

A relative newcomer to the roofing industry in Ireland and beyond, fibreglass offers an innovative and physically durable solution. Notably, the material has no seams in its structure – meaning that the likelihood of failure and water damage is significantly reduced. Another important benefit of fibreglass roofing systems is that in the unlikely event of damage or a fault, it’s relatively easy to repair if damaged. At Nationwide Fibreglass, our dynamic team of fibreglass experts and roofing fitters are on-hand to consult around, install and repair your fibreglass roofing structure: it’s what we do.

Durability and longevity aside, fibreglass roofing carries the major benefit of being prefabricated, meaning that the material is pre-cut from our manufacturing premises, allowing for a rapid and seamless installation. At Nationwide Fibreglass, we recognise that environmental concerns are of significant importance to our customers. That’s why we are proud to say that fibreglass carries zero wastage, reducing the impact on landfill sites across Ireland. Indeed, the material comes as a more environmentally friendly alternative to felt, which isn’t widely recycled.

The benefits of fibreglass roofing systems don’t end there. When you choose a fibreglass roofing system with us, you have the added peace of mind knowing that the material has been constructed using corrosion resistant laminates and fire-retardant resins, making it one of the most chemical and heat resistant solutions out there. Where safety is a major priority, fibreglass is the natural choice.
